Meet the Pacific Coast Kids Team!

Pacific Coast Kids has a strong team of experienced teachers, dedicated to providing a high quality, fun and unique summer camp experience for our campers. With great enthusiasm in teaching, uncompromised dedication, and proven talent in science, math, social studies, music, artistic design, and sports, they’re ready to delivery another successful program at the Pacific Coast Kids summer camp! You can trust your kids with us!


Kevin

Back for his third year at Pacific Coast Kids, Kevin has taught at all levels of public education for the past twelve years. He currently manages the music program at a Bay Area middle school. Kevin received his first Lego set over thirty years ago and has been hooked ever since. In his spare time, he rides his bike and helps out at his family's yarn store.

 

Susan

Susan has been a teacher for the past fifteen years, teaching Earth Science and Physical Science. This will be her third year working for Pacific Coast Kids! She also worked in the Space Program for NASA, ran a Summer Camp Program for several years for the City of San Jose, and coached both boys and girls in volleyball, softball, basketball, track and field. For the past five years at her school, she has been the co-director for the annual school musical. She also held a Forensic Science class for the City of Los Altos in the past.

Don

In 2009, Don was recognized as Teacher of the Year at his school. Don began his career in the tech industry. After working as an engineer, he decided that he wanted to make a difference in his community. He entered a Teacher Education program and started teaching in the Bay Area after completing the program. His classroom experience includes teaching third grade for five years, two years in fifth grade, and one summer in second and one summer in eighth grade.

Don believes in continued education and he earned a Masters in Education in Curriculum Instruction in 2006. In addition to a degree in education, he has a degree in Network Engineering. He continues to take courses to increase his knowledge and understanding. As an educator, Don feels it is his responsibility to set a good example for his students by continuing to learn.

Joyce

Joyce has been teaching since 2006 at private schools and music schools in Bay Area. She also has many years of extensive experience at numerous schools in assisting students in various workshops including those that involve making jewelry, painting sketches, and teaching piano both in United States and in China. This will be her third year working for Pacific Coast Kids. She encourages students to utilize their creative energy to aid in their learning process.

Jennifer

Jennifer received her Bachelor degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz and her credential from Santa Clara University. She is currently working on her masters degree in Science, Technology, Environmental Education and Mathematics (STEEM) from Santa Clara University. Jennifer has taught for seven years in both middle and high school. She also has run different robotics programs, including FIRST Robotics, and FIRST LEGO Robotics. She has been an enthusiastic volleyball coach for the last 6 years.

Scott

As a native Californian, Scott holds two degrees and has spent the last seven years in the teaching profession in local Bay Area schools. He started his career teaching adult education, but soon discovered his true passion was actually teaching children. He is well traveled and lived for a year in Hong Kong teaching English to a very young and culturally diverse student body. Scott is excited about inspiring young minds and helping kids maximize their potential.

 

Mike

A resident of the South Bay his entire life, Mike has taught at local elementary schools for many years. He received his teaching credential from National University and completed his Master of Arts in Education from San Jose State University. Taking advantage of all of Silicon Valley’s activities and sights, he and his wife enjoy spending time with their five-year-old son.

 

Elizabeth

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Elizabeth enjoyed fashion design, and has taken training programs at the Art Institute in San Francisco. She continued to expand her skills and learned to sew. Since then, sewing and fashion design have become her favorite hobbies, and she also has earned a Master’s degree at Villanova University in Philadelphia. Elizabeth has wide experience with children from teaching to leading enrichment classes for elementary school students.
